Reviews and Ratings
The hotel offers wonderful rooms with wood burning fireplaces, excellent showers, and stunning views. The housekeeping service was top-notch, although some little touches were missing. The location is perfect for accessing the main tourist areas, but the pub being renovated was a downside. Dining was enjoyable with good sauces served on proper plates, and the gourmet salads were a highlight. The price was reasonable considering the value provided.
The hotel offers a lovely stay with beautiful views and cozy touches like the wood burning fire and copper bath. However, the service was below expectations in terms of housekeeping. The location is convenient, close to various areas in the Lake District, and perfectly complemented by its proximity to old man coniston behind the pub and Coniston lake. The dining experience was pleasant with proper plated serving but lacked variety in sandwiches. The facilities are well-maintained, providing a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.
I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent facilities in the rooms and the good views they offered. However, I found it a bit disappointing to have to pay extra for a cooked breakfast. The larger shower cubicle was a nice touch.
